Rehabilitation is extremely important for achieving optimum recovery, and returning to a good state of physical and mental health. The areas affected by a condition or an injury weaken over time, reducing muscle activation and causing weakness. This leads to compensation from another area of the body. If these imbalances are not corrected, it can lead to a long and painful recovery. This is where rehabilitation comes into the picture. This involves two main components, muscle activation and muscle strengthening. Muscle activation is important for maintaining a good posture. Without activation, our daily movements may cause pain.
Coming to muscle strengthening, this allows us to help patients correct the weakened areas, using specific exercises and training. This also protects the injured area from further injury, by reducing pressure going through the joints. Our practitioners will teach patients certain exercises that will help them on their road to recovery.
