Sciatica
Sciatica is an injury to the sciatic nerve/nerve root which causes symptoms in the low back and/or one or both legs.
If you are suffering with Sciatica you will normally experience pain, numbness and/or weakness along the sciatic nerve route. This runs from your lower back, down the back of the leg and down to your toes. Sometimes this can happen on both legs.
At our Covent Garden clinic we use K-laser to stimulate and strengthen nerve pathways, reduce pain and increase blood flow to the affected area. We then combine this with Shockwave and percussion therapy which will help to reduce tightness in surrounding muscles. When your pain has reduced and you are able to exercise we will begin the strengthening phase. This will be completed with one our expert practitioners in our onsite gym. Throughout the strengthening phase, there will be an emphasis on core and lower limb strengthening.
The recovery process varies depending on the severity of your Sciatica. However normally our patients recover within 8-12 sessions.
