What is Sciatica?
Sciatica is when the Sciatic nerve – which starts in the lower back, is squeezed or compressed through injury or inflammation.

If you are suffering with Sciatica it could be because of:

- A manual/physical job
- Inflammation around a nerve root
- Muscular tightness
- Being overweight
- Other health conditions
So, can Physiotherapy help Sciatica?
The simple answer is yes.
Sciatica on average can last anywhere between 4-6 weeks to resolve with the help of Physiotherapy treatments, but it can last longer if untreated & depending on the severity the problem.
Physiotherapy can help reduce pain & inflammation, improve lower back mobility and most importantly reduce the irritation of the Sciatic nerve.
The goal is to help you get back to living your normal everyday life and enjoying: hobbies, exercise and working environments as soon as possible.
